Studying in Italy and Scholarships

Italy is the right place to study. With 97 university institutions including 67 state universities, 19 legally recognized non-state universities and 11 distance learning universities – the Italian university system is rich and high quality.

Where to study

If you want to get an idea on where you could study, you can check the website Universitaly. The website is curated by the Italian Ministry of University and Research and is a gateway that allows you to enter the world of undergraduate and graduate education in Italy.

Scholarships

Every year, the Italian Government offers a series of scholarships for foreign students interested in completing their studies in Italy. The call for scholarships of the Italian Government is published every year by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation: check the Study In Italy portal. When the call is published, you will also find it in our News. At the bottom of the page you will find the archive of the latest calls and other opportunities related to scholarships.

Practical issues

If you are about to move to Italy to study and have practical or bureaucratic issues, you can consul the FAQs on the Italian MFA website. If you can’t find the answer you were looking for, you can write to our Consular Section: the address is consolare.riga@esteri.it
