“Light from Italy. From Fattori to Morandi” wins the annual award from the Latvian Museum Association

We are proud to announce that the exhibition “Light from Italy. From Fattori to Morandi”, held at the Latvian National Museum of Art from July to November 2025, has received the 2026 Annual Award from the Latvian Museum Association (Latvijas Muzeju Biedriba), which recognised in particular the project’s significant contribution to collection work. The award was presented during a ceremony held on 1 June in Ventspils.

The jury praised the exhibition’s broad international scope, its significant contribution to research, conservation and the interpretation of the museum’s collections, as well as the fruitful collaboration with leading museums and curators. The rich programme of accompanying events and the high level of public participation were also highlighted. Sincere thanks to the project manager Astrida Rogule, colleagues, partners and visitors who helped make this project one of the most significant events in the Latvian museum sector!

The exhibition was made possible thanks to the support of the Italian Embassy in Riga, Riga City Council, Rietumu Banka and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia. We would also like to thank the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Uffizi Galleries and the Nuova Artemarea Association.
