Official Visit of the Defense Minister Guido Crosetto

The Italian Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto was on an official visit in Latvia in order to meet the Italian Army taking part in the Operation “Baltic Guardian” at the Ādaži military base, and he met the Ambassador Marsella.

Guido Crosetto also had a fruitful meeting with the Latvian Defense Minister Raivis Melnis, during which he received the “Badge of Honor” for contributing to the development of national defense.

After paying a visit to Bulgaria, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, Guido Crosetto ended the Alliance’s eastern flank mission while meeting military and political authorities, and visiting Italian troops engaged in NATO devices.

During the visit at the Ādaži military base Crosetto showed gratitude to all Italian military personnel operating abroad to protect peace and European values, and he highlighted that “Presiding over Latvian borders means defending Italy, Europe and the Atlantic Alliance”.
