This is what we do

According to the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the functions of our Embassy are, among the others: to represent Italy in Latvia; to protect the interests of Italy and its citizens, within the limits allowed by international law; negotiate with Latvian Government; inform, by all lawful means, of the conditions and evolution of events in Latvia and report to the Italian State; promote friendly relations and develop economic, cultural and scientific relations between Italy and Latvia.

Through its Consular Section, the Embassy also provides a series of consular services to Italian and foreign citizens residing in Latvia.

Our team

The Ambassador of Italy to Latvia is Alessandro Monti. The staff of the Embassy, articulated in different offices, is composed by the staff of role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of the International Cooperation of the Italian Republic and of the personnel hired locally.
