What we do
According to the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the functions of the Embassy include, among others: representing Italy in Latvia; protecting the interests of Italy and its nationals in Latvia, within the limits permitted by international law; negotiating with Government of Latvia; ascertaining by all lawful means conditions and developments in Latvia, and reporting to the Italian Government; and promoting friendly relations between Italy and Latvia, as well as developing their economic, commercial, cultural and scientific relations.
Through its Consular Section, the Embassy also provides a series of consular services to Italian and foreign citizens residing in Latvia.
Our team
The Ambassador of Italy to Latvia is Andreina Marsella. The Embassy’s staff is organised into different offices and comprises career staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Repunlic, as well as locally engaged personnel.
