Andreina Marsella was born in Rome on February 19, 1973.
After graduating in Political Science from the University of Rome, she entered the Diplomatic Career in 2001. At the Farnesina she served in the Directorate General for Development Cooperation, the Directorate General for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Countries and the Directorate General for the Countries of the Americas.
From 2004 she served as Second Commercial Secretary in Khartoum, where she was confirmed in 2005 as First Commercial Secretary until 2008. From 2008 to 2010, she was First Secretary in Yangon.
From 2010 to 2012 she served at the Italian Embassy in Kabul.
Returning to Rome, she took up a position at the General Secretariat – Coordination Unit until 2013, when she was appointed Head of the Central Security Body within the General Secretariat.
From May 2014 to July 2017 she served as Counsellor at the Italian Embassy in Tripoli, serving in Tunisi at the Tripoli Embassy Unit from May 2015 to February 2017.
Before being appointed Ambassador of Italy in Podgorica, she served in the Directorate-General for Political and Security Affairs in the CFSP/PSDC Unit and, in 2018, was appointed Embassy Counsellor.
From 2022 to 2026 she served as Italian Ambassador to Montenegro.
He assumed the duties of Italian Ambassador to Latvia on 20 July 2026.
