Meeting with Minister of Culture Agnese Lāce

Culture is one of the main areas of cooperation between Italy and Latvia. Role of the Embassy in promoting collaboration between the cultural and creative institutions of both countries.

On March 27, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, Agnese Lāce, met with the Italian Ambassador to Riga, Alessandro Monti, to assess the state of cultural relations between the two countries.

As reported by the Ministry of Culture on its social media channels, during the meeting, Minister Lāce expressed gratitude for the role of the Italian Embassy in Riga in promoting collaboration between Latvian and Italian cultural and creative institutions.

The discussion continued with an overview of future cooperation prospects, particularly highlighting Latvia’s participation in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale. The conversation also focused on the protection of cultural heritage in crisis situations.

Culture is one of the main areas of cooperation between Italy and Latvia. Between 2022 and 2024, the Italian Embassy in Riga carried out more than 120 cultural and integrated diplomacy initiatives. In 2025, Riga will host two major Italian exhibitions, organized in collaboration with the Uffizi Galleries in Florence and Palazzo Madama in Turin.
