A meeting of the working group of the Italian businesses and entrpreneurs operating in Latvia was held today a tht Italian Embassy in Riga. The Association includes more than thirty businessmen and women and representatives from Italian firms active in Latvia in several sectors: from restaurants to infrastructure, from culture to sustainable agriculture.
“In the current international situation” underlines Alessandro Monti, Ambassador of Italy in Riga, “meetings such the one we held today are a precious platform for exchanging ideas and projects among the Italian business entities operating in Latvia, characterised by a genuine team work approach”.
The main issue on the meeting’s agenda was the creation of an officially-recognised Italian Chamber of Commerce in Latvia. “The goal” continues Amb. Monti, “is organising the first edition of the Italy-Latvia Business Forum in 2023. Such an initiative could prove fundamental in fostering the dialogue among institutions, associations, businesses and professionals coming from both countries”.
During the meeting, some presentations took place, starting from the cooperation opportunities offered to Italian businesses by the Riga Technical University (RTU). Particular attention was devoted to the presentation of the project for Riga’s new high-speed train station, which is been realised with the fundamental contribution of Italian firm Rizzani de Eccher. The activities of the “Mystero” theatre – founded by an Italian magician – were also illustrated.
