Concert for celebrating the “Europe Day 2018”, May 8, 2018

To celebrate the “Europe Day 2018” and the “Open Doors Day 2018”, the Embassy of Italy in Riga is organizing a concert of the young Italian pianist Daklen Difato, seventeen years old (download poster of the concert here).

To open the concert, introductory speech by H. E. the Ambassador of Italy in Riga Mr. Sebastiano Fulci and performance by the young Italian pianist Jacopo Mai (download full program here).

The concert will be held at the “Golden Hall” of the “Riga Latvian Society House” (Merķeļa iela 13, Rīga) on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at 19.00.

 

The entrance to the concert is free, upon invitation.

About the artists:

 

Daklen Difato

Born in Matera on May 26, 2000, he begins his piano studies at the age of seven. At the age of eight he is admitted in the Conservatory of Music “E. R. Duni” of Matera, and he was immediately recognized for being an enfant prodige.

He obtained the Diploma for 10th year of piano studies in the aforementioned institute with full marks, honor and special mention in 2013.

In 2011 the President of the Italian Republic granted him the “Medaglia d’Oro”(“Golden Medal”) and the “Attestato d’Onore” (“Statement of Honor”) and nominated him “Alfiere della Repubblica Italiana” (“Ensign of the Italian Republic”) for his high results in the musical field.

Despite his studying schedule, he regularly performs in concerts at Associations, Foundations and Institution in Italy as well as abroad (“Edinburgh College of Art”, “Reial Cercle Artistic de Barcelona”, “Camerata Musicale Barese”, various Ministry of the Italian Republic, “Centre des Musiques Arabes et Mediterranees”, “Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe”, “Aberdeen International Youth Festival”). He has performed in Scotland, United States of America, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Tunisia, France, Israel.

He is continuing his piano studies with M˚ Alessandro Deljavan, who is following his artistic career.

 

Jacopo Mai

Born in Grosseto in September 1996, he obtained the first level Academic Diploma in Piano with full marks, honor and special mention at the ISSM “P. Mascagni” of Livorno, where his teacher was M˚ Daniel Rivera.

In Italy he has performed in different concerts in prestigious Italian concert halls and theatres: Villa “La Barbariga” in Venice, concert hall “Trafalgar-Recording Studios” in Rome, Theatre “le Muse” of Terruggia (AL), concert hall “Sale Apollinee” of the Theatre “La Fenice” in Venice.

Moreover, he has performed in Budapest, Hungary, in April 2017 with the recital “Homage to Franz Liszt” at the concert hall “Salone G. Verdi” of the Italian Institute of Culture.

He has recently recorded the cd “Lisztian Visions”, published by the record company “Sheva Collection”.
