The Embassy of Italy in Riga is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition “La pittura porta a casa” (Painting brings home) by the artist Gregorio Botta, to be held on 20 February at the Rothko Museum in Daugavpils. the Ambassador of Italy to Latvia, Alessandro Monti, and the Latvian Minister of Culture, Agne Lāce, will attend the event.

The exhibition, curated by Bruno Corà and organized by Il Cigno Arte in collaboration with this Embassy, features about thirty works that offer a synthesis of the artist’s most recent production.

The display at the Rothko Museum holds a profound symbolic value: Gregorio Botta is in fact the author of an important monograph dedicated to Mark Rothko (Pollock and Rothko. The gesture and the breath, Einaudi 2020).

The exhibition will remain open to the public until 24 May 2026.
