Declaration of Value
The Declaration of Value is not a form of recognition of an academic qualification, but rather an informational document that educational institutions and the competent authorities responsible for the recognition of qualifications in Italy can use to evaluate the qualifications themselves, for purposes such as continuing education, practicing regulated professions, etc.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION TO OBTAIN THE “DECLARATION OF VALUE IN LOCO”
- a duly completed and signed application form (click here);
- the original diploma and its annex;
- an authenticated copy of the diploma, transcript of grades and exams taken, or the diploma supplement, with an attached translation from Latvian into Italian signed by the translator, a translation office, or certified by a notary.
NOTE: ONLY WHEN REQUESTING THE DECLARATION FOR A UNIVERSITY DEGREE: the Diploma Supplement in English, either the original or a certified copy, does not require translation. - any applicable consular fee payment.
COST:
The declaration is free of charge (Art. 66, Legislative Decree 71/2011) for proven study-related purposes.
For all other cases, the cost, according to the consular fees schedule, is as follows:
- Declaration of Value (Art. 66N) – €50
- Certification of the conformity of the translation (Art. 72A) – €13 per page (1 page = front and back).
