Please be advised that the identity card, issued on paper, regardless of the expiration date on the document, will cease to be valid as of August 3, 2026, pursuant to European Regulation No. 1157/2019, and may no longer be used to travel abroad.
We strongly encourage you to plan for the “transition” to the Electronic Identity Card (CIE) at your earliest convenience. The CIE is issued by this Embassy only by appointment, booking through the appropriate platform “Prenot@mi” using the methods indicated on the dedicated page of our website.
