Born in Bologna in 1992, Lorenzo earned a B.A. and an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Bologna in 2014 and 2016, respectively. He continued his studies at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, where he obtained a Ph.D. in the History of Political Thought in 2020, with a dissertation on the history of German Ordoliberalism and the economic advisors of Chancellor Konrad Adenauer.
In 2021, he earned an M.S. in International Relations from the University of Bologna, with a thesis on Italian and European Union legislation concerning the screening of foreign direct investments.
He joined the diplomatic service in 2022 with the rank of Second Secretary. Until August 2025, he served at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome, within the Directorate General for Global Affairs, where he worked as Deputy Head of Desk for Southern Africa, responsible for political relations with 18 Sub-Saharan African states.
Since September 2025, he has been serving at the Embassy of Italy in Riga as Deputy Head of Mission. In his capacity as second-in-command, he assists and supports the Head of Mission in the political sector and oversees the coordination of the Consular Section. He is also responsible for the Promotion of Italy Section, which coordinates all cultural, economic, scientific, and integrated promotional activities of Italy in Latvia.
In addition to Italian, he speaks fluent English and German, and is currently learning Latvian and Russian.
