The Embassy of Italy in Riga is pleased to announce that a lecture in English by Italian artist Gregorio Botta, titled “Rothko and Fra Angelico,” will be held tomorrow at the “Saules Skola” in Daugavpils.
Gregorio Botta is also the first Italian artist to be exhibited at the Rothko Museum in Daugavpils. His exhibition, “La pittura porta a casa” (Painting Brings Home), will run from February 20 to May 24, 2026, and is curated by Bruno Corà. The exhibition is organized by the publishing house “Il Cigno Arte,” which is also publishing the art catalogue featuring a critical essay by Micol Forti, Director of the Mart in Rovereto.
The Embassy of Italy in Riga actively supports both the lecture and the exhibition as pivotal moments of cultural exchange between Italy and Latvia, celebrating the excellence of contemporary Italian art within a prestigious international context.
