{"id":5038,"date":"2026-03-03T13:50:35","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T10:50:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambriga.esteri.it\/?p=5038"},"modified":"2026-03-03T15:20:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T12:20:25","slug":"second-latvian-national-pizza-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambriga.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2026\/03\/second-latvian-national-pizza-championship\/","title":{"rendered":"Second Latvian National Pizza Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 26 February, the second \u201c<strong>Latvian National Pizza Championship<\/strong>\u201d was held in Riga, organised by the<strong> Latvian Chefs&#8217; Club<\/strong> and food and delicatessen distributor <strong>Reaton Food<\/strong>, with the support of the Italian Embassy in Riga.<\/p>\n<p>The event was promoted with the aim of enhancing and developing the skills and professional expertise of pizza chefs in Latvia.<\/p>\n<p>Nineteen pizza chefs from different cities across the country took part in the competition. The competitors challenged each other in two disciplines: the preparation of the classic Pizza Margherita and \u201cPizza on the Peel\u201d (pizza cooked on a peel).<\/p>\n<p>The jury evaluated not only the taste and appearance of the final product, but also fundamental professional parameters such as work organisation, workstation management and compliance with cleaning standards during preparation.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the 2026 edition is <strong>Bella Napoli<\/strong> pizzeria in Riga, represented by pizza chef <strong>Jose Angel Bermudez Gil<\/strong>, who won the grand prize: a trip to Naples \u2013 the world capital of pizza \u2013 and participation in the professional course \u2018Training Vera Pizza\u2019 at the prestigious Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, to further perfect his training.<\/p>\n<p>Second place went to <strong>Raivis Dembovskis<\/strong> (<strong>Frego Pizza<\/strong>), third place to <strong>Elvis \u0160v\u012bti\u0146\u0161<\/strong> (<strong>Stacija Vaivari<\/strong>) and fourth place to <strong>Artjoms Nazarovs<\/strong> (<strong>Cafe53<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>This event confirms the growing quality and professionalism of the pizza sector in Latvia, strengthening the gastronomic and cultural ties between Latvia and Italy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"On 26 February, the second \u201cLatvian National Pizza Championship\u201d was held in Riga, organised by the Latvian Chefs&#8217; Club and food and delicatessen distributor Reaton Food, with the support of the Italian Embassy in Riga.
